The ESCO Oil Sight Glass ( OSG, oil check glass, oil monitor ) tools are manufactured from strong and chemically restistant PMMA.
They are especially designed to detect water in oil, oil contamination by particles, color changes, purity or cleanliness of the lubricant as well as for checking the oil level.
Typical applications are gearboxes of pumps in damp environment. Key tool in a Lubrication Reliability program.
With the ESCO OSG, users have an immediate visual inspection of the oil and the ability to drain any accumulated water. The OSG is installed directly to a drain port located at the bottom of a reservoir or with an elbow for drain ports located on the side of the equipment. The spring loaded drain valve is utilized to drain off any water contamination.
Any sediment or particles in the lubricating fluid will matriculate to the OSG where, upon inspection, the user can determine the appropriate action. Available in 1 ounce or 3 ounce capacity with fitting sizes of 1/4”, 3/8” or 1/2” NPT, the ESCO Oil Sight glass is made of strong, impact and stain resistant acrylic and brass hardware*. The pressure and temperature ratings handle most operating environments.
In option available with magnetic drain core plug to attract ferrous particles for decontamination and future oil analysis.
